Full Description


CCC is the primary vehicle for accessing child care scholarships or obtaining help in selecting quality care in Pinellas County. Services are designed to be customer friendly and prepare a child to be ready for school/life, help parents to become self-sufficient, and ensure a viable future workforce by:

-Determining eligibility and helping families locate child care providers for school readiness and VPK services

-Providing consumer education to assist parents in selecting quality care

-Managing the waiting list

-Managing complex systems to track and account for multiple funding sources

-Maintaining a comprehensive system to pay providers who care for eligible children

-Helping protect children at-risk for abuse, neglect or exploitation

-Providing parent education and specialized training for families and providers on behalf of children with emotional challenges, exposed to violence/trauma and/or substances, and/or at-risk for abuse, neglect or exploitation

-Providing technical assistance, training, and consulting on child nutrition

-Building and maintaining partnerships with local economic development, child care advocacy groups, coordinating organizations, and research institutes at the national, state and local levels

-Providing Out of School Time (OST) initiatives for youth ages 9-14 throughout Pinellas County during out of school time hours years round
